Our clinic offers preconception treatments for couples trying to conceive and for couples struggling with infertility. Preconception treatments help to ensure that each potential parent is in optimal reproductive health, with a healthy body terrain, ideal for the creation of a healthy baby.

Naturopathic Mommy to Be Program

Our Naturopathic Mommy-to-Be Program offers you an integrated approach to a Healthy Pregnancy. Our program offers prenatal dietary counselling & supplementation, botanical medicines, natural (botanical, nutritional & homeopathic) and pharmaceutical management options for pregnancy associated ailments, pregnancy acupuncture, and prenatal massage therapy assist you in achieving a healthy pregnancy. Can can assist you in managing most pregnancy related ailments should they arise. We work in collaboration with maternity physicians, midwifes or your Obstetrician. A Mother-to-be can be enrolled into our program at any point throughout her pregnancy. Contact reception for further guidance.

Cervical Ripening and Natural Labour Induction Support

We offer cervical ripening and labour induction care starting week 37 of your pregnancy. Treatment options include acupuncture, traditional labour botanical medicines and homeopathics to assist with cervical ripening and the onset and progression of labour. Appointments may be scheduled individually or as a package.

Recommended Cervical Ripening and Induction Support Acupuncture Schedule:

Induction Support Acupuncture Package:
Cost: $504 This package is designed to assist cervical ripening, labour onset and progression. Cervical ripening support is started at 38 weeks gestation. This package includes one acupuncture session week 37b of your pregnancy followed by twice weekly acupuncture starting week week 38. Acupuncture is then offered every second day week 39 and daily week 40+. This package includes eight 45 minute treatments. If more than eight visits are required, we offer these additional visits to our mom's free of charge.

Labour and Delivery Program

Our Naturopathic Physicians, Doulas and prenatal team will work with you and your partner to create a "Birth Wish" Plan to help you outline your needs and desires for your maternity care team throughout labour, delivery, breastfeeding and the postpartum period. We will work in collaboration with your maternity care providers to create the birthing environment that is right for you. Our Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors offer invaluable support in labour.

Cost: $875. This package includes complete labour care including a Pre Labour & Delivery meet & greet visit with you and your partner to discuss and review your "Birth Plan"(30-45 minutes). This package includes on-call labour services, home and/or hospital labour supportive care, assisted natural pain management including acupuncture, homeopathy, labour tens, and massage. Includes one postpartum visit at hospital or home for both mother and baby in conjunction with midwifes and or maternity doctors.

2. Naturopathic Pregnancy, Induction and Labour & Delivery Package (Dr. Montroy)

Cost: $ 1650. This plan includes complete labour care including initial first and second consultations, five 30 minute prenatal visits, cervical ripening and labour induction support including acupuncture & homeopathic remedies and botanical tinctures starting week 37 of pregnancy to support labour progression, on-call service, home and hospital labour supportive care and assisted pain management (may include acupuncture, tens machine, homeopathy, and massage). Includes one postpartum visit offering breast feeding support at either hospital or home for both mother and baby in conjunction with midwifes and or maternity doctors.

3. Induction and Labour & Delivery Program

Cost: $ 1250. This package is designed to assist cervical ripening, labour onset and progression. Cervical ripening support is started at 38 weeks gestation. This package includes twice weekly acupuncture starting week 38 of your pregnancy, acupuncture every second day week 39 and daily acupuncture week 40+. This package includes eight 30-45 minute visits, however if more than eight visits are required, we offer these additional visits to our mom's free of charge. Homeopathic remedies and botanical medicine to support labour preparation are included in the cost starting week 36. Complete labour care includes on-call service, home and hospital labour supportive care and assisted pain management (may include homeopathy, acupuncture and massage). Includes as well one post delivery care visit at hospital or home for both mother and baby in conjunction with midwifes and or maternity doctors.

4. Doula Support Program (Vanessa Martell, RMT):

Cost: $650. Includes initial meet and greet visit. Labour care includes on-call service, continuous emotional and physical support throughout labour and delivery at home or hospital and assisted pain management techniques (massage included). We offer one postpartum home visit to assist in the supportive care of both mother and baby after delivery. **We accept acute referrals from midwives and maternity doctors.

Postpartum Support Program

After the experience of labour & delivery, the postpartum period has historically been a time to renourishing the mother. Many cultures practice ancient rituals to provide nourishment to the mother to build her blood, energy and qi. We offer an integrated approach uniting Traditional Chinese Medicine, ancient Mommy support traditions, Naturopathic Medicine and Western Medicine to allow women to blossom into motherhood.

We recommend the following Postpartum Treatment Schedule:

Postpartum Day 1-3: (optional) At home breastfeeding counselling if required
Postpartum Day 5-7: (60 minutes) Postpartum nutritional plan for mom and babe, "Mother Roasting" offering the new Mother an acupuncture & moxa treatment
Postpartum Day 14 (45 minutes): this visit includes a "mother nourishing" acupuncture treatment, screening & development of a preventative plan for Postpartum Depression. Ongoing breastfeeding challenges will also be addressed.
Postpartum 6 weeks: (30 minutes) this visit includes a screening for postpartum depression and a naturopathic consultation with a focus on lactation nutrition, vaginal or c-section healing, infant 6 week well child assessment

Postpartum Anxiety and Depression

The postpartum period can be a wonderful time for many mothers. It can also present many challenges including trying to care for a new baby, learning how to breastfeed, healing after labour and delivery, caring for siblings, balancing home and work, adapting to a new role as a mother, upkeep of the home and maintaining a relationship. We are here to help as this is often not an easy process.

1/3-1/7 mothers will experience postpartum anxiety or depression with one or more pregnancies. We are here to help you. We offer both natural and pharmaceutical treatment options to women to help them manage low mood, anxiety, sleep deprivation, depression and possible feelings of giving up. We can offer referrals to postpartum programs in Victoria and are happy to work with your GP, midwife and or counsellor to ensure adequate support. You are not alone.

*We offer counselling for postpartum depression (we are happy to work along side Traci McGee, RCC & the VIHA/Queen Alexandra Postpartum Program and Support group).

Breastfeeding Counselling

We offer one on one individualized breastfeeding counselling from both a mainstream and Naturopathic perspective. We offer a natural integrated approach to address challenges such as poor latching, blocked ducts, poor milk production, mastitis, painful breastfeeding, sore nipples, inverted nipples, and concerns with breastfeeding.
